About the Scholarship:
Since 2017, Class 101 has sponsored the 101 Scholars Program, giving students nationwide the opportunity to compete for $3,000 to help them make college more affordable. To date, 18 students have received this honor.
This year, four scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate excellence in leadership, community involvement and academic achievement.
How to Apply:
When applying for the 101 Scholarship, students are required to submit the following materials. Please read closely to ensure you meet the application requirements.
- Résumé: This is a required front page that must include at least the following information:
– First Name
– Last Name
– E-mail
– Address
– High School
– Graduation Year
– Test Scores (e.g. ACT, SAT), if available
– Weighted and Unweighted GPA
- Personal Statement or Video: Students must also submit a short personal statement. This statement can take the form of a 500-word essay or 1–2 minute video. It must address the prompts below.
- Prompt : Explain how you’ve used your skills and talents to initiate change in your community. What lessons have you learned from these experiences?
- Students should submit all materials to Class101.com/101scholar with the file or YouTube link titled ‘Full Name of Student_Name of High School_Graduation Year’. Students who choose to follow the video prompt should upload their video to YouTube unlisted.
**If student chooses to do an essay, please make sure the resume and essay are in the same document.**
When is the Deadline:
Students can begin submitting applications on February 15, 2024. All completed applications must be submitted by 11:59 EST on April 15th, 2024. There will be no exceptions.
Who is Eligible:
All freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors in high school, who have not won in the past, are eligible to apply. The scholarship will be sent to the college in the summer before their freshman year of college.
How are the winners selected?
The winners will be selected by a panel of judges. Applicants will be scored along the following criteria:
- 60% on the degree to which they are making a difference in the community;
- 30% on the extent to which they demonstrate leadership; and
- 10% on how they are achieving academically.
SUBMISSIONS ARE CLOSED FOR 2024. Winners will be announced in June.
