College Planning Guide During COVID-19

The world looks a whole lot different than it did a year ago. Quarantining has affected every aspect of our lives, including unprecedented shifts to your high schooler’s educational experience.

But just as your teenager is getting ready again for high school this fall, they also need to get ready for college!

The college advisors at Class 101 have one message for parents and students: We’ve got you.

Over the past several months, admissions requirements have changed drastically. Many colleges have waived requirements on standardized testing, as testing facilities for the SAT/ACT have been closed. Additionally, many schools are receiving increased early admission applicants, and some high schools have changed grading requirements to a pass/fail system since students were unable to finish the school year in the classroom.

Combine that with the fact that many colleges are not allowing prospective students to visit campus, leaving students to make decisions sight unseen, and still others are reverting to distance learning indefinitely, making it difficult for students to envision their college experience.

But don’t let any of this stop your student.

“Our professional college planning services have never been more important—we’re helping families navigate through the real-time changes, keeping them on track and securing financial aid and scholarships during the economic downturn,” said Tom Pabin, President of Class 101.

Class 101 helps parents and students navigate the college admissions process, ensuring students find the best schools, at the best price, for their best future. The college admissions process is already a complex, multi-year process, and now, more than ever, Class 101 experts are staying up to date on the ever-changing landscape.

“It’s natural to feel overwhelmed right now, as we’re being inundated with constant updates about policy changes from colleges, testing organizations, and other entities,” said Tom.

“But it’s important to remember that no matter how much the face of education might change in the coming months, now is the time to help high school students prepare for life after graduation.”

“Class 101 makes college planning simple,” said Tom. “Our best practices, strategies, and expertise ensure our Class 101 students are properly prepared for college admissions this year and beyond.”
