Class 101 typically holds its corporate conventions and training on college campuses across the country, and this year was no different. Class 101’s sixth annual convention was held on the beautiful campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. Franchisees from across the country gathered for the two-day convention, which included hearing about new initiatives with the industry, participating in breakout sessions with fellow franchisees, and celebrating top company producers.
The agenda included a variety of topics geared toward helping franchisees increase their visibility within their respective territories as well as keeping everyone up to date on the latest information related to the changing landscape of college planning. Enhanced tools for providing help with test prep, essays, and college list development were introduced. Additionally, those in attendance were introduced to processes and best practices for growing their teams of college planners within their specific locations, valuable information as many of the 42 locations experience rapid growth.
Class 101 guides families through the complicated college planning process while helping to make college more affordable. Students have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with a college planning advisor once a month focusing on all components of the college planning process. Class 101’s 12 services include helping students create the optimal college list, improve
test prep scores, build a strong resume, complete applications, and work with a trusted mentor.
Class 101 is to empower students as they navigate the college planning process.
“We value the opportunities to be together in one place,” says Founder and CEO, Tom Pabin. “Our goal for each convention is to provide each franchisee with new tools and information to support them as they guide families through the college planning process. We believe we have accomplished that this year. Having the opportunity to come together and share our passion and successes is particularly motivating to our new franchisees for whom this may be their first convention.”
Class 101 also had the opportunity to celebrate with franchisees who had demonstrated particular success over the past year. Franchisees were awarded with pins to recognize achievement in levels of sales. Karen DeRosa-Class 101 Dayton, OH received the Rookie of the Year award. John Izzo-Pittsburgh, PA East was awarded Most Improved Franchisee. Kim and Randy Stegemoller-Class 101 Bloomington were recognized as Franchise of the Year. This was the sixth year that Class 101 Bloomington has received this award.
In addition to the time spent at California Lutheran University, franchisees took advantage of the convention location to tour many campuses in the area. The group had the opportunity to discover the campus of Pepperdine University and many franchisees spent time on other campuses in the area. Seeing campuses firsthand and increasing college knowledge further increases the value of a Class 101 college planning advisor as they serve the families in their respective communities.
